OEOC — A Shared Resource for Selling Owners
A project funded by the EOX State Center Grant Program
Updating “Selling Your Company to Your Employees” for the whole network

The Ohio Employee Ownership Center (OEOC) has long used its book Selling Your Company to Your Employees as a go-to resource for owners considering EO. With an EOX project grant, OEOC updated and expanded the book — and then turned it into a shared asset for the network.
The project:
- Modernized the content to cover ESOPs, worker co-ops, EOTs, and related models, giving owners a high-level comparison before they dive into technical detail.
- Created custom, print-ready PDFs branded for EOX and participating State Centers, so each Center can hand owners a resource that looks and feels local.
- Distributed these versions across the network, increasing OEOC’s visibility and strengthening collaboration among Centers.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Business owners often need a big-picture overview before they’re ready to talk structure, valuation, or financing. This project gives State Centers a consistent, high-quality piece they can share early in the journey.
It’s a textbook example of what EOX wants project grants to do: create
shared educational tools that make local outreach stronger without every Center building from scratch. It's proof there is strength in our unique network-based approach to expanding EO.
